It’s pretty hard to believe that it’s already halfway through the first month of the year. I’m sure most of us have already started slacking on our New Years resolutions and are falling into old habits, but I refuse to let that happen this year and so should you!
It is so important to stay motivated in order to keep your resolutions and goals. Without it, it’s pretty likely you will lose your mojo on everything you want to achieve. That’s why I’m sharing my tips to stay motivated and keep me (& you) on track for the upcoming year.
I can not stress this enough. It is SO important to have all your ducks in a row if you want to get shit done. Keep your home clean, your closet organized and your life free from clutter. It is proven that you’re more productive when you are in a clean environment after all. Make lists of EVERYTHING you need to get done & utilize a calendar on a daily basis so you can’t forget anything. Creating a system and an environment that is organized will help push you towards everything you are striving for.
Now I’m sure most of you know you need to set goals to help stay motivated, but so many people forget about the small goals that help you achieve the big goals. I create daily & weekly lists of things I need to get done and read them everyday, if not multiple times a day. Find a system that works for you and write everything down. As Tim Feriss says, if you don’t write it in your calendar, it won’t happen. I find this to be so accurate; if I don’t write it down I probably forget. A friend of mine showed me the app Wunderlist & it has worked great for me so far. I have everything listed down from blogs I need to write to groceries I need to buy to workouts I need to fit in that week. And let me tell you, nothing feels better than checking something off one of the lists with the knowledge you are one step closer to bigger & better things.
STAYING ACCOUNTABLE IS SO IMPORTANT & probably one of the most essential things to do in order to stay motivated. You know those lists of goals & to-do’s I talked about above? I send them to a friend at the beginning of each week, tell her what I’ve accomplished each day, and she does the same with me. It has been beyond helpful having someone keep me on track & push me when I am wanting to give up. Find someone who can keep you accountable for every little thing you say you are going to do, so you can ensure you actually do them.
