Prepping For Spring

I have a confession to make; I hate cold weather. I’m sure this comes from being raised in Arizona and moving to Southern California where it doesn’t get below 60, and even 60 is just way too cold for this old desert dweller. Immediately after the holidays end, I begin dreaming about spring and summer. I love being able to be outside during the day without bundling up, doing beach days with friends, and simply enjoying the sunshine. Plus, I would much rather wear shorts and sundresses over stiff uncomfortable jackets any day.

This excitement already has me searching for the newest spring trends and putting countless garments into various online shopping carts. While it’s not going to get warm for about another month or two for us West Coasters, I am already making purchases here and there to step up my spring wardrobe.

Buying a few things at a time is actually one of my tricks to expanding my wardrobe without dropping a ton of money all at once. Getting one or two new items every couple weeks feels a lot better to my bank account than getting several items in one big shopping haul. My most recent purchase was this crop top from Nordstrom and it got me so excited for spring. I love floral patterns and flowy tops, so basically this was made for me. I can’t wait to wear it will shorts and maxi skirts once it warms up a bit more.

What’s next on my list of purchases for spring fashion? The list could go on forever, but there have been a few key pieces I’ve been thinking about. One is the perfect white sundress and sadly I have yet to find one. The moment I do I will be getting it immediately! In addition to the perfect spring dress, I need a good pair of lace-up sandals. I’m going to have to trade out my booties more often once it gets warmer and have been loving the lace-up trend.

Bodysuits are another thing I want to add more of to my closet. I just purchased the cutest off-the-shoulder bodysuit and can’t wait to add a few more to my collection. They are such an easy piece to style with shorts and skirts when it gets warmer. And of course, I am on the prowl for my first bikini purchase for 2017.

What are you planning on getting for your spring wardrobe? I’d love to hear about it!
